Mallika
Mallika grew up homeschooled in a Christian home in South Florida where she gave her life to Christ at a young age. She grew up loving church, missions trips, and spending all her free time at the beach! Mallika re-dedicated her life to serving the Lord while on a missions trip in Peru when she was 15 years old. She met Ben when she was 14 years old through her homeschool group and they became best friends and eventually high school sweethearts and got married when when they were 20.
At 23 the Windles were called to pastor a church in South Florida where the Windle family served in multicultural, multigenerational urban cities and followed Christ to serve in communities where mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and prostitution were part of everyday ministry. Oh, the stories they can tell.
In 2014, in a season of burnout, God called the Windles to Discover Church for a season of refreshing and renewal in the mountains. What was supposed to be a season turned into a clear assignment. God used the church and the people to bring fresh life and a renewed call to Ben and Mallika as they fell in love with the community and it’s people. God quickly got to work providing the vision of a thriving church that is part of a Jesus movement that is transforming lives, communities, and the world. God has grown a church of 9 people meeting in a home in 2007 into a life-giving community where people gather from all over Western North Carolina and Northern Georgia.
Mallika currently works part time as the Connections Coordinator helping anyone looking to take their next step get connected, whether that’s a LifeGroups, DiscipleshipGroup, one of the many classes Discover offers, or just a hang out at the park. She helps oversee our MOPS group, Women’s Ministry, and Baptisms.
Mallika has always enjoyed health, and has a certification in Dental Assisting that she hopes to use on medical missions trips.
She loves spending her free time with her family at the lake, beach, pool, camping, walking – all the things – and snuggling with her golden doodle Layla.
